Goodwill Campaign support reaches families in Karak

HRH Princess Basma bint Talal handed over food parcels, school bags, micro-grants and university aid at the Princess Basma Development Centre in Karak.

On 16 September 2026, HRH Princess Basma bint Talal, who chairs the Goodwill Campaign’s Higher Committee, visited Johud’s Princess Basma Development Centre in Karak, joined by the Governor of Karak, Qablan Sharif, and Johud’s Executive Director, Farah Daghistani.

The campaign delivered food parcels to 100 households headed by women and school bags to 100 children in the centre’s summer club. Nine women received support to grow their income-generating projects, and university students in fields the labour market needs received study grants.

The Princess said the campaign links immediate help with long-term development, drawing on Johud’s network of community development centres to give women and young people job skills, tools for starting a business, and routes to market.

She met women from Al Yarut village who lead local water-conservation work, and praised the role women play in protecting water at home and in their community.

She also heard about youth-led work across the governorate, including environmental clubs, employment initiatives and community media through Farah Al Nas Radio.
